Angie-stone
FEATURED ARTIST FOR BAYFEST 2011
SPOTLIGHT ON A “RISING STAR”
                                  K-Rob-The Next Generational Isley
Emerging R&B Recording Artist K-Rob Stays Focused on Success
Music lovers around the world are raving about the emerging R&B/Soul artist K-Rob on Pandora.Com, Jango.com, INDIE 104 and IRADIOLA. The “raves” continue with current airplay on major FM radio stations such as 92.1, WQQK, Nashville, Tenn., Power 94.3, WJTT, Chattanooga, Tenn; and The Michael Baisden Show. As the nephew of Rudolph Isley of the great Isley Brothers, K-Rob continues to garner new fans and support for his energetic, edgy and soulful album, which features songs such as “2Nite,” “Again, Like the First Time,” “Golden Lady” and the retro club-banger, “Lovers.” He’s also known for putting on a great show for his audience.
K-Rob, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and now a resident of Nashville, Tenn., remains passionate and focused on his work, which is inspired by the Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Marvin Gaye. His vocal style has been compared to Howard Hewitt, Joe and Maxwell. K-Rob is grateful for his musical gift and the uncles who have inspired him to do everything with much determination, hard work and style. “I love music, and the legacy that my uncles have given me,” K-Rob said. My goal is to continue writing and performing expressive lyrics that will be filled with love, romance and fun. It’s important that I provide my fans and listeners with the best music that I have within.” katina-and-krob
walton-krobK-Rob is extremely family-oriented and enjoys making those he loves happy. He has performed for numerous non-profit agencies in support of women, children and families in need. His mission in life is to share his musical talent and make a difference in the lives of others.
He recently made a stop along the Gulf Coast and allowed his new fans an opportunity to sample his music in an exclusive listening party. Varion Walton was just one of several members in the entertainment news industry who left the gathering pleasantly satisfied. Everyone agrees his vocals on his new CD are smooth, but nothing quite compares to the added attraction of listening to this “rising star” sing a capella. K-Rob, the “next generational Isley” ready and prepared to leave his own mark in the musical world of R&B.

Comments : Varion, It was quite a pleasure to listen to the interview with Kelvin Wooten and the up close with Ruben. Two gentlemen I go way back with... all the way back to The Morrison Building... That is where some awesome talent has been displayed on the campus of Alabama A&M. I am not partial to AAMU because i know Greats have come from MANY areas in Alabama... do you line up your interviews or do you have a team that works with you? With Magic City Classic looming, a ASU vs AAMU battle of the talents would be a great event to begin that brings together all of these talents and make magic happen! Doug Williams, Ricky Smiley, Tavarius Jackson from ASU. Mr Wooten, and Mr. Studard as mentioned, Robert Mathis, One of Atlanta's premier Business experts LaVon Lewis, and even future successes.

9/11-"AMERICA REMEMBERS" 10 YEARS LATER

September 11th---It's a somber anniversary we can "never forget!  September 11, 2001 the day nearly 3 thousand souls were lost in New York, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, PA. It was one of the most brutal attacks on American soil as the twin towers of the World Trade Center; The Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and United Airlines Flight 93 carrying 40 passengers and crew refused to become victims, but heroes!  10 years later we also honor the memory of the brave fire fighters, emergency responders and service members who also made the ultimate sacrifice in "keeping America free."

Today as the world stops to pause, "reflect and remember" I wanted to share with you a special documentary my friend Jeff Weber shared with me. Thank you Jeff! God Bless America.

"Connect. Celebrate. CNN Reunion! "- TJ HOLMES

(Philadelphia, PA.)-August 6th-- Yes ladies, CNN News Anchor T.J. Holmes is as fine as you think.  Fine as in a "fine journalist", scholar and husband.  That's right, this "T.V. Hottie" was recently taken off the market after marrying Marilee Fiebig, an Atlanta based attorney earlier this year.

CNN's T.J. Holmes and Former CNN Business Anchor Valorie Morris-Coleman

During the recent NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) Convention Philadelphia, it was obvious the two "love birds" were in love with the "City of Brotherly Love." They were spotted checking out the monuments, holding hands and sneaking in
an occasional kiss or two.

But, it was during the NABJ President Kathy Times Gala I caught T.J. Holmes in a sweet reunion with another lady, his former co-worker Valorie Coleman Morris.  As you can see from the photos it's been a while since the two have seen each one another.  They celebrated with a big embrace and warm smiles.

The two have probably known each other since their days working in the bay area of San Francisco.  Valorie is a former financial news anchor for CNN.  These days you can check him out on Saturday and Sunday morning on CNN and check out Valorie's website by visiting: Valorie Coleman-Morris at Valorie Colman Morris

It was indeed my pleasure meeting them both
and being something of a "fly on the wall" as
they "reconnected, celebrated and enjoyed
their CNN reunion!"

TOP TECH TRENDS FOR JOURNALISTS

(Philadelphia, PA.)  -NABJ CONVENTION--Talk about 21st Century Reporting!
Look who's getting"smart" about their "smart phones!" Ready or not, more backpack journalists are getting the job done  without all of that antiquated, big, bulky gear.

Check it out, that's a tiny lavaliere microphone with an actual windscreen.  Also, the tripod fits the I-PHONE  "like a glove" with the help of a special brace you can find at any local camera shop.  The microphone will only set you back about $20-dollars.

In 2011 news is immediate and breaking news is essential!  This workshop is designed to give journalists an overview of the technology and applications that allow journalists to share video content with their mobile devices.  We're talking live streaming, breaking news situations for independent journalists who are busy dominating social media sights and their blogs.

This new style of "smart reporting" with multimedia will help us to go to "video and beyond!"  Big thank you goes out to Serbino Sandifer Walker, Professor, Texas Southern University and Multimedia Director, KTSU.  Also Malik Singleton, Independent Journalist and Amani Channel, Senior Producer, KEF Media Associates.

Last year's festival attracted some 200-thousand music lovers, pumping more than 6 million dollars into Mobile's local economy. Festival. While visitors from all over the world are welcomed to the annual event, organizers are dedicated to keeping everyone safe.  Bayfest Executive Director Shana Jordan says fans can still bring their lawn chairs, but this year the chairs will be limited to a designated area. Safety is a major especially after the horrible stage collapse incident in Indiana. "Over the years we've been really fortunate we didn't have any major incidents at BayFest.  Patrons will still be welcome to bring chairs, they will not be able to set them up in streets that might be needed for emergency vehicles," said Jordan.
The other big change includes what organizers are calling "crowd control".  It was announced Thursday no single day passes will be sold. Right now weekend passes are being capped at 50-thousand. Free admission for children 12 and under if they are accompanied by an adult.
