Author And Emmy Award-Winner Jeffrey Blount Speaks In Chattanooga Feb. 5th

Southern Lit Alliance will host Jeffrey Blount at the South Bound Lecture Series on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. 

Author and Emmy award-winning news producer, Mr. Blount has published three novels that lead the reader into issues of social injustice and racism through his characters' touching lives.  He will discuss his recent book, The Emancipation of Evan Walls, and the inherent difficulties his characters face.

Mr. Blount retired from his position as the producer of NBC News in February of 2017. During a 34-year career, Mr. Blount produced and directed Meet The Press, The Today Show, NBC Nightly. News, The Chris Matthews Show, and other major special programs and won an Emmy for his work.
